নিজের কথায় ফেঁসে যাচ্ছেন লঙ্কান মন্ত্রী

স্পোর্টস ডেস্ক: ২০১১ সালের বিশ্বকাপ ফাইনালটি ভারতের কাছে বিক্রি করে দিয়েছিল শ্রীলঙ্কা বলে  এক অভিযোগ তুলেছেন শ্রীলঙ্কার সাবেক ক্রীড়ামন্ত্রী মানিন্দানন্দা আলুথগামাগে।

নিজের এমন দাবির পক্ষে খুব বেশি যুক্তি উপস্থাপন করেননি মাহিন্দনন্দা। তবে বলেছিলেন, ফাইনালের আগে স্কোয়াডে কিছু পরিবর্তন আনা হয়। যেগুলোর ব্যাপারে ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয় থেকে কোন ধরনের অনুমতি নেয়া হয়নি।

এ অভিযোগ করে সাবেক ক্রীড়ামন্ত্রী বলেছিলেন, ‘একদম শেষ দিকে গিয়ে হুট করেই শ্রীলঙ্কা থেকে দুইজন ক্রিকেটারকে নিয়ে যাওয়া হয়। ক্রিকেট বোর্ড কিংবা ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয় থেকে এ বিষয়ে কোন অনুমতিও নেয়া হয়নি।’

তার এ অভিযোগ আংশিক সত্য। ফাইনালে আগে ইনজুরি সমস্যায় ভুগছিলেন অ্যাঞ্জেলো ম্যাথুজ ও মুত্তিয়াহ মুরালিধরন। তাই তাদের ব্যাকআপ হিসেবে উড়িয়ে নেয়া হয় বাঁহাতি পেসার চামিন্দা ভাস ও অফস্পিনার সুরজ রান্দিবকে।

কিন্তু এ দুজনকে নেয়ার ব্যাপারে ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের অনুমতি নেয়া হয়নি, এ অভিযোগ পুরোপুরি মিথ্যা। কেননা ভাস ও রান্দিবকে দলে নেয়ার আগে লঙ্কান ক্রিকেট দলের পক্ষ থেকে ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের কাছে ঠিকই চিঠি দিয়ে অনুমতি নেয়া হয়েছিল।

সানডে টাইমসের এক প্রতিবেদনে উঠে এসেছে এ তথ্য। যেখানে তারা সংযুক্ত করেছে ৩০ মার্চ ২০১১ তারিখে ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের কাছে দেয়া সেই চিঠিটিও। যেখানে সাফ দেখা যাচ্ছে, তখনকার ক্রীড়ামন্ত্রী মাহিন্দানন্দার কাছে দুই খেলোয়াড় দলে নেয়ার অনুমতি চেয়েছে লঙ্কান দল এবং সেখানে অনুমতি দেয়াও হয়েছে ক্রীড়া মন্ত্রণালয়ের পক্ষ থেকে।

এই তথ্য প্রমাণের পর পুরোপুরি মিথ্যা হয়ে গেছে মাহিন্দনন্দার অভিযোগ। এখন বরং প্রশ্ন উঠছে তার অবস্থান নিয়েই। যদি ফাইনাল বিক্রির জন্যই সেই দুই খেলোয়াড়কে উড়িয়ে নেয়া হয়, তাহলে সেটির অনুমতি কেন দিলেন তখনকার ক্রীড়ামন্ত্রী? নিজের অভিযোগে এখন নিজেই ফেঁসে যাওয়ার উপক্রম হয়েছে মাহিন্দনন্দার।

এদিকে সাবেক এই ক্রীড়ামন্ত্রীর ফাইনাল বেঁচে দেয়ার অভিযোগ হালকাভাবে নিচ্ছে না শ্রীলঙ্কা সরকার। এরই মধ্যে বর্তমান ক্রীড়ামন্ত্রীকে নির্দেশ দেয়া হয়েছে সেই ফাইনালের ব্যাপারে তদন্ত করতে। এছাড়া আইসিসিও ভেবে দেখছে, সেই ম্যাচের বিষয়ে নিজেদের তদন্ত করার বিষয়টি।

After proving this information, Mahindananda's allegation has become completely false. Now the question is about his position. If those two players were blown up for the final sale, then why did the then sports minister allow it? Mahindananda is now trying to get himself caught up in his own allegations.
