প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তি: আন্তর্জাতিক খ্যাতিসম্পন্ন ইতিহাসবিদ এবং রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের ইসলামের ইতিহাস ও সংস্কৃতি বিভাগের ইমেরিটাস অধ্যাপক ড. এ বি এম হোসেন এবং একই বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গণিত বিভাগের অবসরপ্রাপ্ত অধ্যাপক ড. শিশির ভট্টাচার্যের মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোক ও দু:খ প্রকাশ করেছেন নর্থ বেঙ্গল ইন্টারন্যাশনাল ইউনিভার্সিটির ট্রাস্টিবোর্ডের চেয়ারম্যান নারীনেত্রী কথাশিল্পী অধ্যাপিকা রাশেদা খালেক এবং উপাচার্য বিশিষ্ট শিক্ষাবিদ প্রফেসর ড.আবদুল খালেক। 

শনিবার এক শোকবার্তায় তাঁরা বলেন, অধ্যাপক ড. এ বি এম হোসেন রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ে প্রথম এমেরিটাস অধ্যাপক হিসেবে সম্মাননাপ্রাপ্ত হন। ইতিহাস বিষয়ে তার ১১টি গ্রন্থ রয়েছে। মধ্যপ্রাচ্যের রাজনীতি নিয়ে তিনি অসংখ্য গবেষণা করেছেন। ১৯৭৭ সালে নরওয়েজিয়ান পার্লামেন্ট নোবেল শান্তি পুরস্কারের জন্য গঠিত বোর্ডে ড. এবিএম হোসেনকে সদস্য মনোনীত করেন। 

তিনি বাংলাদেশ এশিয়াটিক সোসাইটি ও বাংলা একাডেমির সম্মানিত আজীবন ফেলো। অপরদিকে রাজশাহী বিশ্ববিদ্যালয়ের গণিত বিভাগের অবসরপ্রাপ্ত অধ্যাপক ড. শিশির ভট্টাচার্য বাংলাদেশের একজন নামী বিজ্ঞান লেখক ছিলেন। তিনি ছিলেন বাংলাদেশের হাতেগোনা কয়েকজন কসমোলোজি বিশেষজ্ঞের একজন। অত্যন্ত মৃদুভাষী, সজ্জন, সংস্কৃতিমনা ছিলেন অধ্যাপক ড. শিশির ভট্টাচার্য । 

তাঁদের দুইজনের সাথেই আমাদের পারিবারিকভাবে খুবই ঘনিষ্ট সম্পর্ক ছিলো। দুইজন শিক্ষাবিদের মৃত্যুতে দেশের শিক্ষাঙ্গনে যে অপূরণীয় ক্ষতি হলো তা পূরণ হবার নয়।

আমরা তাঁদের মৃত্যুতে গভীর শোক প্রকাশ করছি এবং বিদেহী আতœার শান্তি কামনা করছি। একইসাথে মরহুমের পরিবারের প্রতি গভীর সমবেদনা জ্ঞাপন করছি।

RBI Emeritus Professor Dr. ABM Hossain and Professor. North Bengal International University mourns Shishir Bhattacharya's death

Press Release: Internationally renowned historian and Emeritus Professor of the Department of History and Culture of Islam at Rajshahi University. ABM Hossain and retired professor of mathematics at the same university. Shishir Bhattacharya's death has been deeply mourned by the Chairman of the Board of Trustees of North Bengal International University, Professor Rasheda Khaleq, a female narrator, and the eminent Vice-Chancellor, Professor Dr. Abdul Khaleq.

In a condolence message on Saturday, they said, Professor. ABM Hossain was honored as the first Emeritus Professor at Rajshahi University. He has 11 books on history. He has done numerous studies on Middle Eastern politics. In the Norwegian Parliament Nobel Peace Prize Board formed in 1986. ABM nominated Hossain as a member.

He is an Honorary Life Fellow of Bangladesh Asiatic Society and Bangla Academy. On the other hand, retired professor of mathematics at Rajshahi University. Shishir Bhattacharya was a renowned science writer in Bangladesh. He was one of the few cosmologists in Bangladesh. Professor Dr. was very soft-spoken, gentleman, cultured. Shishir Bhattacharya.

We had a very close family relationship with the two of them. The irreparable damage done to the country's education system by the death of two academics is not to be compensated.


We deeply mourn their deaths and wish peace to the departed souls. At the same time, I extend my deepest condolences to the family of the deceased.
