ফয়সাল আজম অপু, বিশেষ প্রতিনিধিঃ ভারতের পশ্চিমবঙ্গের মালদা জেলার কালিয়াচক থানার গোলাপগঞ্জ এলাকার বাসিন্দা সমেনা বিবি, নিজের খালার মৃত্যুর খবর পেয়ে গত মার্চের ৭ তারিখ এসেছিলেন চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জ জেলার শিবগঞ্জ উপজেলার কানসাটে। কিন্তু আত্মীয়ের মৃত্যুতে নিজ দেশ ছেড়ে আসায় যেন কাল হলো সমেনা বিবির। প্রাণঘাতী করোনা ভাইরাস সংক্রমণের পরিস্থিতিতে বন্ধ দুই দেশের সীমান্ত পারাপার। আর এতেই নিজ দেশে ফিরতে পারছেন না স্বামী, সন্তান, সংসার ছেড়ে আসা সমেনা।
শুধু সমেনা বিবিই নয়, তার মতো প্রায় ৪ হাজার ভারতীয় নাগরিক সীমান্তবর্তী জেলা চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জে আটকে আছে। প্রতিদিনই সোনামসজিদ স্থলবন্দরের ইমিগ্রেশন অফিসের সামনে এসে নিজ দেশে ফেরার অপেক্ষার প্রহর গুনছে, আর করুণ আর্তনাদ করছে এসব দিশেহারা ভারতীয় নাগরিক।
বুধবার সকালেও দেখা গেছে প্রায় অর্ধশতাধিক অপেক্ষমান ভারতীয় নাগরিককে। অঝোরে চোখের জল ফেলছেন তারা। অশ্রুসিক্ত চোখে সমেনা বিবি জানান, ৩ ছেলে-মেয়েকে রেখে এসেছি। সংসার ভাঙ্গার উপক্রম, স্বামী বলছে, আরেকটা বিয়ে করবো। আমরা ভারতের নাগরিক, নিয়মিত ট্যাক্স দেয়, ভোট দেয়।
তাহলে নিজ দেশে কেন যেতে পারবো না? গাড়ি চলছে, পণ্য আমদানি-রপ্তানী হচ্ছে, তাহলে আমাদের নিতে সমস্যা কোথায়? নিজের স্বামী-সন্তানের কথা বলতে গিয়ে আবেগে আপ্লুত হয়ে কাঁদতে কাঁদতে তিনি আরো বলেন, দেশে না ফেরালে এখানেই জীবন দিয়ে দিবো।
মালদার বোস্টমনগর থানার গুলজারনগর গ্রামের আব্দুর রাজ্জাক বলেন, ভোলাহাটে আত্মীয়ের বাড়িতে বেড়াতে এসে আটকে পড়েছি। উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা আমাদের জানিয়েছেন ৩১ তারিখ খুলবে, তবে এখনও সীমান্ত খুলেনি। ভিসার মেয়াদও শেষ হয়ে গেছে অনেক আগেই। বউ-বাচ্চা ছাড়াই একটা ঈদ করেছি, আরেকটা ঈদ চলে আসলো। ঢাকা-কলকাতাগামী চাটার্ড বিমানের টিকিটও নিয়েছিলাম, সেটাও বাতিল হয়েছে।
মার্চ মাসের ৮ তারিখে পরিবারের সাথে ঘুরতে এসেছিলো নবম শ্রেণীর ছাত্রী নূরনেসা। ১০ দিনের জন্য এসে ৪ মাস পেরিয়ে গেছে। নূর নেসা জানান, তখন কিছুই ছিলো না, তাই বই-খাতা নিয়ে আসিনি। সূর্যাপুরে যেখানে আমার স্কুল, সেখানে পরিস্থিতি স্বাভাবিক। ক্লাসে প্রশ্নপত্রও দেয়া হচ্ছে। কিন্তু আমি আটকে পড়াই এখানে পড়াশোনা হচ্ছে না। প্রায় ১ মাস ধরে প্রতিদিন এখানে এসে ঘুরছি, খাওয়া-দাওয়ার কোন খবর নেয়, কেউ দুমুঠো খাবার নিয়ে এগিয়েও আসছে না। আজকাল বলে দিন পার করছে এখানকার অফিসাররা। বাড়িতে ছোট বোন, ফুফু মারা গেছে, তাও যেতে পারলাম না।
কান্নাজড়িত কন্ঠে এভাবেই নিজের অসহায়ত্বের কথা বলছিলেন, মালদার কালিয়াচক থানার শ্মশানীবাড়ি গ্রামের পঞ্চাশোর্ধ হবিবুর রহমান। কালিয়াচক থানার সুজাপুর চামাগ্রাম এলাকার মো. আহসান আলী (৩০) বলেন, বাড়িতে ৩ ছেলেমেয়ে ও স্ত্রী রয়েছে। ওখানে তারা অর্ধাহারে-অনাহারে দিন পার করছে। আমাদের সংসারটা কে চালাবে? এসময় তিনি দুই দেশের সরকারের বিভিন্ন পদক্ষেপ নিয়ে ব্যাপক সমালোচনা করেন ও মানবিক দিক বিবেচনায় সীমান্ত খুলে দেয়ার দাবি জানান।
এ বিষয়ে কথা বলতে বৃহস্পতিবার (০৯ জুলাই) সোনামসজিদ ইমিগ্রেশন ইনচার্জ (উপপরিদর্শক) জাফর ইকবাল জানান, কখন নাগাদ ইমিগ্রেশন চালু হবে তা নিশ্চিত করতে পারেননি তিনি। তবে মাঝে মাঝে ওপারের যাত্রী বা যাত্রীদের আত্মীয়স্বজন অফিসে এসে খোঁজখবর নিতে আসেন।
উপজেলা নির্বাহী অফিসার সাকিব আল-রাব্বি বলেন, ঠিক কখন ইমিগ্রেশন চালু হবে, সেটির অফিসিয়ালভাবে কোন চিঠি বা নির্দেশনা পাওয়া যায়নি। রাজশাহীতে অবস্থিত ভারতীয় সহকারী হাইকমিশনারের কার্যালয়ের (০৭২১-৮৬১২১২, ভ্যারিভাইড ফেইসবুক পেইজ থেকে নেয়া) নম্বরে একাধিকবার চেষ্টা করেও বক্তব্য পাওয়া যায়নি।
