ফাঁকা রাজধানী

রাজধানী: কয়েক মাসেই আগেই রাজধানী তার চেনা রুপ হারিয়েছে। করোনা হানা দেয়ার পর গত এপ্রিল থেকেই যানজট, যান্ত্রিক শব্দ, রাস্তাঘাটে মানুষের উপচেপড়া ভিড়- এসব এমন সীমিত।  এমনিতেই ঈদ এলে পাল্টে যায় রাজধানীর এই দৃশ্য। রাস্তায় থাকে না মানুষের ভিড় কিংবা যানজট। যানবাহন কম চলাচল করায় কমে যায় শব্দ ও বায়ু দূষণ।

এবার তো আরও ফাঁকা। গত ২ মাস কর্ম ও শ্রমজীবী মানুষ ছাড়া সাধারণ মানুষের সংখ্যা সীমিত ছিল। এই কর্ম ও শ্রমজীবী মানুষও ঈদুল আজহায় পরিবারের সঙ্গে থাকতে রওনা দিয়েছেন বাড়ির মুখে। ফলে ফাঁকা রাজধানী আরও ফাঁকা হচ্ছে।

আগের বছরগুলোতে সপ্তাহব্যাপী ঘরমুখো মানুষের ভিড় থাকলেও এবার ছিল উল্টোচিত্র। তবে শেষদিনে মহাসড়কগুলোতে ঘরে ফেরা মানুষের ঢল নেমেছে।  নগরী রাজধানী ঢাকা ছেড়ে নাড়ির টানে গ্রামে ফিরছে মানুষ।

ঢাকার বিভিন্ন বাসস্ট্যান্ড (মহাখালী, গাবতলী, গুলিস্তান ও সায়েদাবাদ), সদরঘাট লঞ্চ টার্মিনালে ঈদ করতে ঘরে ফেরা মানুষের উপচে পড়া ভিড় দেখা গেছে। ফলে রাজধানীর ব্যস্ত সড়ক ক্রমেই ফাঁকা হচ্ছে।

শুক্রবার সকালে ফার্মগেটে দেখা যায় চিরচেনা বাসে উঠার জন্য যাত্রীদের ভিড়ের চিরচেনা সেই দৃশ্যটি নেই। শত শত মানুষ দাঁড়িয়ে থাকা, একটি বাস আসতে দেখলেই যাত্রীদের হুড়োহুড়ি করে ছুটে বাসে উঠার চেষ্টা করা, বাস আগে থেকে যাত্রী পরিপূর্ণ থাকায় তা দ্রুত বেগে চলে যাওয়া এ সবই অনুপস্থিত।

শাহবাগ মোড়েও ফাঁকা অবস্থা দেখা যায়। এ সময় বেশ কয়েকটি বাসের হেল্পারকে ‘এই মিরপুর, আসাদগেট, সাইন্স ল্যাবরেটরি, কলাবাগান, কল্যাণপুর, গাবতলী’ বলে চিৎকার করে প্যাসেঞ্জার ডাকাডাকি করতে দেখা যায়।

এবার ঈদের আগে তিনদিন ছুটি পাওয়ায় বৃহস্পতিবার ছিল চাকরিজীবীদের শেষ কর্মদিবস। এছাড়া ঈদের পরেও কয়েকদিন ছুটি  নিয়েছেন অনেক। তাই এবার অন্যবারের তুলনায় ঢাকা আরও বেশি ফাঁকা হয়ে গেছে।

Empty capital

This time it is more empty. In the last two months, the number of ordinary people was limited except for working and working people. These hardworking people have also left for home with their families on Eid-ul-Azha. As a result, the empty capital is becoming more empty.

In previous years, there was a crowd of homebound people for weeks, but this time it was the other way around. However, on the last day, the number of people returning home has decreased on the highways. People are leaving the city capital Dhaka and returning to the village.

Overflowing crowds of people returning home for Eid have been seen at various bus stands in Dhaka (Mohakhali, Gabtali, Gulistan and Sayedabad), Sadarghat Launch Terminal. As a result, the busy roads of the capital are getting empty.

It was seen at Farmgate on Friday morning that there was no such scene of crowds of passengers getting on the Chirchena bus. Hundreds of people are standing, trying to get on the bus as soon as they see a bus coming, trying to get on the bus as the bus is already full of passengers.

Empty condition can also be seen at Shahbagh intersection. At that time, several bus helpers were seen shouting 'This is Mirpur, Asadgate, Science Laboratory, Kalabagan, Kalyanpur, Gabtali' and shouting at the passengers.

This time Thursday was the last working day of the employees as they got three days off before Eid. Besides, many have taken leave for a few days even after Eid. So this time Dhaka has become more empty than other times.
