পরবর্তীতে সংশ্লিষ্ট এলাকার এনএসআই'র কর্মরত জুনিয়র ফিল্ড অফিসার ইমন হোসেনের সার্বিক ব্যাবস্থাপনায় এনএসআই'র উপ-পরিচালক মোরশেদ আলমের নেতৃত্বে ভুয়া এনএসআইকে আটক করা হয়। আটককৃত ভূয়া এনএসআই'র ফিল্ড অফিসার পরিচয় দেওয়া ব্যাক্তিটি হলো, জেলার গোমাস্তাপুর উপজেলার বেনীচক এলাকার মৃত জোব্দুল হকের ছেলে জয়নুল আবেদিন (২৫)।

এনএসআই'র উপ-পরিচালক মোরশেদ আলম বিষয়টি নিশ্চিত করেছেন। এখনো তাকে দণ্ডপ্রাপ্ত সাজা দেওয়া হয়নি বিস্তারিত পরে জানানো হবে বলেও জানান তিনি।
