প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তি: রাজশাহী মহানগরীতে করোনা ভাইরাসজনিত প্রাদুর্ভাব বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ায় করণীয় বিষয়ে স্বাস্থ্য স্থায়ী কমিটি, ওয়ার্ড সচিব ও স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীদের সাথে মতবিনিময় করেছেন রাজশাহী সিটি কর্পোরেশনের মেয়র এ.এইচ.এম খায়রুজ্জামান লিটন। সোমবার বিকেলে নগরভবনের সিটি হল সভাকক্ষে মেয়রের সভাপতিত্বে এই সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
সভায় সভাপতির বক্তব্য রাখতে মেয়র বলেন, বৈশ্বিক মহামারী করোনায় আজ বিশ্ব বিপর্যস্ত। আমাদের দেশেও এ ভাইরাস গত মার্চে প্রকোপ আকারে দেখা দিয়েছে। ঠিক তখন থেকেই করোনা প্রতিরোধে রাজশাহী সিটি কর্পোরেশন নানা উদ্যোগ গ্রহণ করেছে। স্থানীয় সরকারের প্রতিষ্ঠান হিসেবে রাজশাহী সিটি কর্পোরেশনকে নানা দায়িত্ব পালন করতে হচ্ছে। নাগরিকদের স্বাস্থ্য সুরক্ষায় অনেকগুলি পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করেছে সিটি কর্পোরেশন। ওয়ার্ড ভিত্তিক নমুনা সংগ্রহ টিম বৃদ্ধি,টিমের সদস্যদের প্রয়োজনীয় প্রশিক্ষণ, আরও একটি পিসিআর ল্যাব স্থাপনের পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে। হেলথ সেন্টারগুলোতে নমুনা সংগ্রহের কেন্দ্র করা হবে। করোনা ভাইরাসের প্রাদুর্ভাব বৃদ্ধির এক্ষণে রাজশাহী সিটি কর্পোরেশনের স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগকে আরও দায়িত্বশীল হতে হবে। করোনা রোগীদের সহযোগিতায় স্বেচ্ছাসেবক ও যুব রেডক্রিসেন্ট সদস্যদের সম্পৃক্ত করা হবে।
তিনি আরো বলেন, সম্প্রসারিত টিকাদান কর্মসূচি (ইপিআই) রাজশাহী সিটি কর্পোরেশন ৯বার প্রথম স্থান অর্জন করেছে। এছাড়া স্বাস্থ্যসেবার আরো অর্জন আছে। সেই অর্জন ধরে রাখতে চাই।
মেয়র আরো বলেন, স্বাস্থ্যকর্মীরা নাগরিক স্বাস্থ্যসেবায় নানান কাজ করে থাকেন। এরই পাশাপাশি করোনা পরিস্থিতি মোকাবেলায় আক্রান্ত ব্যক্তির স্যাম্পল কালেকশন, করোনা পরিবর্তি খোঁজখবর রাখা, ত্রাণ সামগ্রী পৌছে দেয়া, মৃত্যুবরণকারী ব্যক্তিদের দাফন কাজ সম্পন্ন করণে সহযোগিতা প্রদান করার বিষয়ে সকলকে আন্তরিকভাবে দায়িত্ব পালন করতে হবে।
মতবিনিময় সভায় বক্তব্য রাখেন রাসিকের প্যানেল মেয়র-১ ও ১২নং ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর সরিফুল ইসলাম বাবু, স্বাস্থ্য স্থায়ী কমিটির সভাপতি ৬নং ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর নুরুজ্জামান টুকু, ২নং ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর নজরুল ইসলাম, প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা ড. এবিএম শরীফ উদ্দিন, ভারপ্রাপ্ত প্রধান প্রকৌশলী খন্দকার খায়রুল বাশার, প্রধান পরিচ্ছন্ন কর্মকর্তা শেখ মোঃ মামুন ডলার।

Press Release: AHM Khairuzzaman Liton, Mayor of Rajshahi City Corporation has exchanged views with the Health Standing Committee, Ward Secretary and health workers on what to do as the outbreak of Corona virus has increased in Rajshahi metropolis. The meeting was held under the chairmanship of the mayor at the City Hall meeting room of Nagar Bhaban on Monday afternoon.
Speaking at the meeting, the mayor said the world is in turmoil today due to the global epidemic. The virus also appeared in our country in the form of an outbreak last March. Since then, Rajshahi City Corporation has taken various initiatives to prevent corona. As an institution of local government, Rajshahi City Corporation has to fulfill various responsibilities. The city corporation has taken many steps to protect the health of the citizens.
There are plans to expand the ward-based sample collection team, provide necessary training to team members, and set up another PCR lab. Sample collection centers will be set up in health centers. The health department of Rajshahi City Corporation has to be more responsible now to increase the prevalence of corona virus. Volunteers and Youth Red Crescent members will be involved in co-operation with Corona patients.
He added that Rajshahi City Corporation has won the first place in the Extended Immunization Program (EPI) 9 times. There are also more achievements in healthcare. I want to hold on to that achievement.
The mayor further said that health workers work in various ways in civic health care. In addition to this, in order to deal with the corona situation, everyone has to play a sincere role in collecting sample of the affected person, searching for corona replacement, delivering relief materials, and assisting in completing the burial of the deceased.
