নওগাঁয় সড়ক দুর্ঘটনায় এক এনজিও কর্মী নিহত

নওগাঁ প্রতিনিধি: নওগাঁয় মাছের ড্রামবাহী মিনি ট্রাকের চাকায় পিষ্ট হয়ে এমদাদুল হক (৩৮) নামে একজন নিহত হয়েছে। বুধবার রাতে মহাদেবপুর উপজেলার হাটচকগৌরী নামক স্থানে এ দুর্ঘটনাটি ঘটে। নিহত এমদাদুলের বাড়ি বগুড়ার দুপচাচিয়ায়। 

মহাদেবপুর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) নজরুল ইসলাম জুয়েল জানান, নওগাঁর বলিহার বাজারে অবস্থিত (টিএমএসএস) নামে একটি এনজিও শাখায় সিনিয়র সুপার ভাইজার হিসাবে কাজ করতেন এমদাদুল। বুধবার রাত ৯টার দিকে মোটরসাইকেল নিয়ে বাসায় যাচ্ছিলেন তিনি। 

পথের মধ্যে নওগাঁ-রাজশাহী মহা-সড়কের হাটচকগৌরী নামক স্থানে পৌছালে নওগাঁ অভিমুখী মাছের ড্রামবাহী একটি মিনি ট্রাক মোটর সাইকেলটিকে পেছন থেকে ধাক্কা দেয়। এতে ঘটনাস্থলেই ঐ ট্রাকের চাকায় পিষ্ট হয়ে মারা যান এমদাদুল। 

দুর্ঘটনার খবর পেয়ে স্থানীয় নওহাটামোড় ফাঁড়ি পুলিশ মৃতদেহ ও মোটর সাইকেলটি উদ্ধার করে ফাঁড়ি হেফাজতে আছে। এ ঘটনায় চালক ট্রাকটিকে নিয়ে পালিয়ে গেছে বলেও জানান তিনি।

NGO worker was killed in a road accident in Naogaon

Naogaon Correspondent: A man named Emdadul Haque (38) was killed when he was crushed by the wheel of a mini truck carrying fish drums in Naogaon. The accident took place at Hatchakgauri in Mahadevpur upazila on Wednesday night. Emdadul's house is in Dupchachia, Bogra.

Officer-in-Charge (OC) of Mahadevpur Police Station Nazrul Islam Jewel said Emdadul used to work as a senior supervisor in an NGO branch called TMSS located at Balihar Bazar in Naogaon. He was going home on a motorcycle around 9 pm on Wednesday.



On the way, a mini truck carrying fish drums towards Naogaon pushed the motorcycle from behind when it reached Hatchakgauri on the Naogaon-Rajshahi highway. Emdadul was crushed to death on the spot by the truck.

Upon receiving the news of the accident, the local Nauhatamor outpost police recovered the body and the motorcycle and the outpost is in custody. He also said that the driver fled with the truck in the incident.
