চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জের শিবগঞ্জে কলেজ ছাত্রীর আত্মহত্যা

ফয়সাল আজম অপু, বিশেষ প্রতিনিধিঃ চাঁপাইনবাবগঞ্জের শিবগঞ্জে শাহনাজ আক্তার শান্তা (১৮) নামে এক কলেজ ছাত্রী গলায় ফাঁস দিয়ে আত্মহত্যা করেছে। ৫ জুলাই রবিবার দুপুর ১ টার দিকে নিজ শয়ন কক্ষে সে গলায় নিজ ওড়নার ফাঁস দিয়ে আত্মহত্যা করেছে। শান্তা শিবগঞ্জ উপজেলার পৌর এলাকার জালমাছমারি গ্রামের সাইফুল ইসলামের মেয়ে।

মৃত শান্তার মা ও পরিবার সুত্রে জানা যায়, আত্মহত্যার সময় কেউ বাড়িতে ছিলনা। রোববার দুপুর ১ টার দিকে বাড়িতে কেহ না থাকার সুযোগে নিজ শয়ন ঘরের স্বরের সাথে ওড়না দিয়ে গলায় ফাঁস দিয়ে আত্মহত্যা করে। পরে লাশ ঝুলন্ত অবস্থায় দেখতে পেয়ে লোকজন ডাকা ডাকি করা হয় এবং পুলিশকে খবর দেয়া হয়।

শিবগঞ্জ থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত কর্মকর্তা (ওসি) সামসুল আলম শাহ ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে বলেন, এবিষয়ে শিবগঞ্জ থানায় একটি ইউডি মামলা হয়েছে।

College student commits suicide in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj

Faisal Azam Apu, Special Correspondent: A college student named Shahnaz Akhter Shanta (18) committed suicide by hanging herself in Shibganj of Chapainawabganj. He committed suicide by hanging his scarf around his neck in his bedroom around 1pm on Sunday, July 5. Shanta is the daughter of Saiful Islam of Jalmachmari village in Shibganj upazila.

According to the mother and family of the deceased Shanta, no one was at home at the time of the suicide. On Sunday, at around 1 pm, when no one was at home, he committed suicide by hanging himself with the cover of his bedroom. Later, when the body was found hanging, people were called and the police were informed.

Shibganj Police Officer-in-Charge (OC) Samsul Alam Shah confirmed the incident and said a UD case has been registered with Shibganj Police Station in this regard.
