প্রেস বিজ্ঞপ্তি: মহানগরীতে করোনা ভাইরাসের প্রাদুর্ভাব আশঙ্কাজনকহারে বৃদ্ধি পাওয়ায় করণীয় বিষয়ে রাজশাহী সিটি কর্পোরেশনের কাউন্সিলর ও স্বাস্থ্য বিভাগের কর্মকর্তাদের সাথে মতবিনিময় করেছেন মেয়র এ.এইচ.এম খায়রুজ্জামান লিটন। বৃহস্পতিবার দুপুরে নগর ভবনের সিটি হল সভাকক্ষে এ সভা অনুষ্ঠিত হয়। সভায় সভাপতিত্ব করেন মেয়র।
সভায় সভাপতির বক্তব্যে মেয়র বলেন, দেশে করোনা সংক্রমণের শুরুতেই জনসচেতনতা সৃষ্টি, বাস চলাচল বন্ধসহ বিভিন্ন পদক্ষেপ গ্রহণ করে। যার ফলে দীর্ঘদিন রাজশাহী সিটি করোনামুক্ত ছিল। কিন্তু গত পবিত্র ঈদুল উল ফিতর উপলক্ষ্যে দেশের বিভিন্ন প্রান্ত হতে মানুষের আগমনের পর থেকে শহরের করোনা পরিস্থিতির অবনতি ঘটে। বর্তমানে করোনা পরিস্থিতি নিয়ন্ত্রণে সম্মিলিতভাবে আমরা আন্তরিক প্রচেষ্টা চালিয়ে যাচ্ছি।
মেয়র আরো বলেন, সিটি কর্পোরেশনের উদ্যোগে মানুষের বাড়ি বাড়ি গিয়ে ও নির্ধারিত বুথে করোনা পরীক্ষার নমুনা সংগ্রহ করা হচ্ছে। নমুনা সংগ্রহের জন্য বিভাগীয় মহিলা ক্রীড়া কমপ্লেক্স ও তালাইমারি আদর্শ স্কুলে পৃথক দুইটি বুথ স্থাপন করা হয়েছে। আরো একটি বুথ বসানোর পরিকল্পনা রয়েছে। করোনায় আক্রান্তদের নিয়মিত খোঁজখবর রাখা এবং তাদের খাদ্য সহায়তা প্রদান করা হচ্ছে।
আগামী ঈদুল আজহাকে সামনে রেখে সবাইকে সতর্ক থাকার আহ্বান জানিয়েছেন মেয়র খায়রুজ্জামান লিটন। তিনি বলেন, ঈদুল আজহা উপলক্ষ্যে পশুর হাটে বিপুল মানুষের সমাগম ঘটবে। পশুর হাটে স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মানতে হবে ও সবাইকে সতর্ক থাকতে হবে।
সভা থেকে করোনা নিয়ন্ত্রণে মহানগরবাসীকে সামাজিক দূরত্ব মেনে চলা, মাস্ক ব্যবহার করাসহ স্বাস্থ্যবিধি মেনে চলার আহ্বান জানান মেয়র।
সভা মে উপবিষ্ট ছিলেন প্যানেল মেয়র-১ ও ১২নং ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর সরিফুল ইসলাম বাবু, শিক্ষা, স্বাস্থ্য ও পরিবার পরিকল্পনা এবং স্বাস্থ্যরক্ষা ব্যবস্থা স্থায়ী কমিটির সভাপতি ৬নং ওয়ার্ড কাউন্সিলর মো. নুরুজ্জামান টুকু, প্রধান নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা ডা.এবিএম শরীফ উদ্দিন। সভায় করোনা বিষয়ে রাসিকের সার্বিক কার্যক্রম উপস্থাপন করেন প্রধান স্বাস্থ্য কর্মকর্তা ডা.এফএএম আঞ্জুমান আরা বেগম। সভায় সভায় রাসিকের কাউন্সিলর ও কর্মকর্তাবৃন্দ উপস্থিত ছিলেন।

Mayor Liton exchanged views with councilors and the health department on what Corona should do
Press Release: Mayor AHM Khairuzzaman Liton has exchanged views with Rajshahi City Corporation Councilors and Health Department officials on what to do as the outbreak of Corona virus has increased alarmingly in the metropolis. The meeting was held at noon on Thursday in the City Hall meeting room of Nagar Bhaban. The mayor presided over the meeting.
Speaking at the meeting, the mayor said the country has taken various steps including creating public awareness and stopping bus services at the beginning of the corona infection. As a result, Rajshahi City was tax free for a long time. But since the arrival of people from different parts of the country on the occasion of the last holy Eid-ul-Fitr, the situation in the city has deteriorated. At present, we are making concerted efforts to control the situation in Corona.
The mayor further said that at the initiative of the city corporation, samples of corona test are being collected from people's houses and at the designated booths. Two separate booths have been set up at the Divisional Women's Sports Complex and Talaimari Adarsh School for sample collection. There are plans to set up one more booth. Corona sufferers are being screened regularly and food aid is being provided to them.
Mayor Khairuzzaman Liton has urged everyone to be vigilant ahead of the upcoming Eid-ul-Azha. He said a large number of people would gather at the cattle market on the occasion of Eid-ul-Azha. Hygiene rules must be followed at the animal market and everyone must be careful.
The meeting was attended by panel mayor-1 and 12th ward councilor Sariful Islam Babu, education, health and family planning and health protection standing committee chairman 8th ward councilor Md. Nuruzzaman Tuku, Chief Executive Officer Dr. ABM Sharif Uddin. Chief Health Officer Dr. FAM Anjuman Ara Begum presented Rasik's overall activities on Corona at the meeting. Rasik's councilors and officials were present at the meeting.
From the meeting, the mayor urged the city dwellers to adhere to social distance, use masks and follow hygiene rules to control corona.
