বিনোদন প্রতিবেদক: দেশের প্রখ্যাত সংগীত শিল্পী এন্ড্রু কিশোর আর নেই। সোমবার (০৬ জুলাই) সন্ধ্যা ৬টা ৫৫ মিনিটে রাজশাহী মহানগরীর মহিষবাথান এলাকায় বোনের বাসায় শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করেন তিনি। মৃত্যুকালে তার বয়স হয়েছিল ৬৫ বছর।

গত বছরের সেপ্টেম্বরে এন্ড্রু কিশোরের দেহে ক্যানসার ধরা পড়ে। সিঙ্গাপুরে চিকিৎসা করেও ক্যানসার নির্মুল হয়নি তার। চিকিৎসক হাল ছেড়ে দেয়ায় গত ১১ জুন ক্যানসার নিয়েই ফিরতে হয়েছে দেশে। তারপর থেকেই ছিলেন রাজশাহীতে। রোববার থেকে শারীরিক অবস্থার অবনতি ঘটে।

এন্ড্রু কিশোরের বোন জামাই প্যাট্টিক বিপুল বিশ্বাস জানান, সিঙ্গাপুরে কেমোথেরাপি ও রেডিওথেরাপি দিলেও ক্যানসার দূর হয়নি। চিকিৎসকরা হাল ছেড়ে দিয়েছিলেন। তাই এন্ড্রু কিশোরের ইচ্ছায় তাকে দেশে আনা হয়। এরপর থেকে বোনের বাসায় ছিলেন। এটি ক্লিনিকও। সেখানেই তিনি শেষ নিঃশ্বাস ত্যাগ করলেন।

রাজশাহীতে জন্ম নেয়া এন্ড্রু কিশোর ১৯৭৭ সালে ‘মেইল ট্রেন’ চলচ্চিত্রের মধ্য দিয়ে প্লেব্যাকে যাত্রা শুরু করেন। এরপর আটবার জাতীয় চলচ্চিত্র পুরস্কার পেয়েছেন। নিজেকে নিয়ে গিয়েছেন জনপ্রিয়তার শীর্ষে। ‘জীবনের গল্প আছে বাকি অল্প’, ‘হায়রে মানুষ রঙিন ফানুস’, ‘ডাক দিয়াছেন দয়াল আমারে’, ‘আমার সারা দেহ খেও গো মাটি’, ‘আমার বুকের মধ্যে খানে’সহ অসংখ্য জনপ্রিয় বাংলা গান উপহার দিয়েছেন শ্রোতাদের।

প্লে ব্যাক সম্রাট এন্ড্রু কিশোর সব সময় সাদামাটা জীবনযাপন করেছেন। কখনও তাকে নিয়ে কোন বিতর্ক ওঠেনি। হাজারও ভক্ত অনুরাগীদের কাঁদিয়ে দেশবরেণ্য এই শিল্পী পৃথিবীর মায়া ত্যাগ করে চলে গেলেন।

Andrew was diagnosed with cancer in September last year. Her treatment in Singapore did not cure her cancer. As the doctor gave up, he had to return to the country on June 11 with cancer. Since then he was in Rajshahi. The physical condition has been deteriorating since Sunday.

Andrew Kishore's sister-in-law Pattik Bipul Biswas said that despite chemotherapy and radiotherapy in Singapore, the cancer did not go away. The doctors gave up. So Andrew was brought to the country at the behest of the teenager. From then on he was at his sister's house. It is also a clinic. There he breathed his last.

Born in Rajshahi, Andrew Kishore started his playback journey in 1986 with the film 'Mail Train'. Since then he has won eight National Film Awards. Has taken himself to the top of popularity.
