ট্রাকের চাকায় পিষ্ট হয়ে ধান চাতাল ব্যবসায়ীর মৃত্যু ও ১ জন গুরুতর আহত

রায়হান আলম, নওগাঁ প্রতিনিধিঃ নওগাঁয় ট্রাকের চাকায় পিষ্ট হয়ে দীনেষ চন্দ্র (৫৯) নামের এক চাতাল ব্যবসায়ীর মৃত্যু হয়েছে এবং মোটর সাইকেল আরোহী গুরুতর আহত হয়েছে। দূর্ঘটনাটি ঘটেছে বৃহস্পতিবার ৮ টার দিকে নওগাঁর মহাদেবপুর উপজেলার নওগাঁ-রাজশাহী মহা-সড়কের পিড়া মোড় নামক স্থানে।

স্থানিয়রা জানান, জেলার মহাদেবপুর উপজেলার বাগধানা গ্রামের মৃত সচিন চন্দ্র’র ছেলে ও পিড়া মোড় এলাকার ধান-চাতাল ব্যবসায়ী দীনেষ চন্দ্র (৫৯) পিড়া মোড়ের একটি দোকানে চা খেয়ে ধান-চাতালে ফেরার জন্য মহা-সড়ক পার হওয়ার সময় একটি মোটর সাইকেলের সাথে ধাক্কা লেগে ধান-চাতাল ব্যবসায়ী দীনেষ চন্দ্র ও মোটর সাইকেল আরোহী দু’জনই ছিটকে একটি মালবাহী ট্রাকের সাথে সংঘর্ষ ঘটলে দূর্ঘটনা স্থলেই ধান-চাতাল ব্যবসায়ী দীনেষ চন্দ্র এর মৃত্যু ঘটে। এসময় মোটর সাইকেল আরোহী গুরুতর আহত হলে তাকে উদ্ধার করে গুরুতর অবস্থায় নওগাঁ সদর হাসপাতালে পাঠিয়ে দেন স্থানিয়রা।

ঘটনার সত্যতা নিশ্চিত করে নওহাটামোড় পুলিশ ফাঁড়ি ইনচার্জ এস আই ফরিদ জানান, সড়ক দূর্ঘটনার সংবাদ পাওয়ার সাথে সাথে সঙ্গীয় ফোর্স সহ আমি নিজেই দূর্ঘটনাস্থলে গিয়ে জানতে পারি ধান-চাতাল ব্যবসায়ী দীনেষ চন্দ্র নামের একজন মারা গেছেন এবং তার মৃতদেহ স্বজনরা বাড়িতে নিয়ে গেছেন। 

এছাড়াও একই দূর্ঘটনায় অপর অজ্ঞাত এক মোটর সাইকেল আরোহী গুরুতর আহত হওয়ায় তাকে নওগাঁ সদর হাসপাতালে চিকিৎসার জন্য পাঠিয়েছেন স্থানিয়রা এবং দূর্ঘটনার পরই ট্রাকটি নিয়ে চালক পালিয়ে যায়। দীনেষ চন্দ্রের মৃত্যুতে স্থানিয় ব্যবসায়ী মহল ও তার গ্রামের লোকজনের মাঝে শোকের ছায়া নেমে আসে।

A paddy hut trader was crushed to death by a truck and one person was seriously injured

Raihan Alam, Naogaon Correspondent: A four-year-old trader named Dinesh Chandra was killed and a motorcyclist was seriously injured when he was crushed by a truck wheel in Naogaon. The accident took place at around 8am on Thursday at a place called Pira Mor on the Naogaon-Rajshahi highway in Mahadevpur upazila of Naogaon.

According to locals, Dinesh Chandra, 59, son of late Sachin Chandra of Bagdhana village in Mahadevpur upazila of the district and a paddy trader in Pira Mor area, collided with a motorbike while crossing the highway to have tea at a shop in Pira Mor. Paddy trader Dinesh Chandra and a motorcyclist collided head-on with a freight truck, killing Dinesh Chandra on the spot.

When the motorcyclist was seriously injured, the locals rescued him and sent him to Naogaon Sadar Hospital in critical condition.Confirming the incident, Naohatamor police outpost in-charge SI Farid said, "As soon as I got the news of the road accident, I along with the accompanying force went to the spot and found out that a paddy trader Dinesh Chandra had died and his body was taken home by his relatives."

Another unidentified motorcyclist was seriously injured in the same accident and was rushed to Naogaon Sadar Hospital for treatment by the locals. The driver of the truck fled after the accident. The death of Dinesh Chandra casts a shadow of mourning over the local business community and the people of his village.
