করোনা উপসর্গে মৃত ব্যক্তির সৎকার করলেন ইউএনও চেয়ারম্যান

আরিফুল ইসলাম, নাটোর প্রতিনিধি: নাটোর সদর উপজেলার তেবাড়িয়া ইউনিয়নের জংলী এলাকায় বিধান সরকার(৪৭) নামে ঢাকা ফেরত এক ব্যক্তির মৃত্যু হয়েছে। তিনি নওগাঁ জেলার রানীনগর উপজেলার দুলাল সরকারের ছেলে। তিনি গতরাতে করোনা উপসর্গ নিয়ে ঢাকা থেকে নাটোরের জংলীতে মামার বাড়িতে এসেছিলেন। 

বুধবার(১লা জুলাই) সকালে ওই ব্যক্তির মৃত্যু হয়। তেবাড়িয়া ইউনিয়ন পরিষদ চেয়ারম্যান ওমর আলী প্রধান জানান, মঙ্গলবার রাত ৮টায় তিনি জংলী এলাকার প্রয়াত মামা কাত্তিক সরকারের বাড়িতে আসেন। রাতে খাবার খেয়ে ঘুমিয়ে পড়েন বিধান সরকার। বুধবার সকালে তিনি ঘুম থেকে উঠতে দেরী করেন। 

বাড়ির লোকজন ভেবেছিলো দীর্ঘ পথ পাড়ি দিয়ে ক্লান্ত থাকায় তিনি ঘুমাচ্ছেন। একপর্যায়ে সন্দেহ হলে বাইরে থেকে ডাকাডাকি করে তার কোন সাড়া না পাওয়ায় দরজা ভেঙ্গে দেখা যায় তিনি মারা গেছেন। বিধান করোনায় আক্রান্ত মনে করে কেউ তার সৎকারে এগিয়ে আসেনি। এমনকি কেউ বাড়ি নওগাঁয় তার মরদেহ নিতে চাননি। তাই দুপুরে উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তার সহায়তায় জংলী শ্মশানে বিধান সরকারের সৎকার করা হয়েছে। 

সদর উপজেলা নির্বাহী কর্মকর্তা( ইউএনও) জাহাঙ্গীর আলম বলেন, করোনা ভেবে কেউ বিধান সরকারের সৎকারে এগিয়ে আসেনি। স্থানীয় ইউপি চেয়ারম্যানকে সাথে নিয়ে রাজশাহী থেকে স্বেচ্ছাসেবক এনে মৃতের সৎকার করা হয়েছে। করোনা পরীক্ষার জন্য নমুনা সংগ্রহ করা হয়েছে ওই ব্যক্তির।

He is the son of Dulal Sarkar of Raninagar upazila of Naogaon district. He came to his uncle's house in the jungles of Natore from Dhaka last night with corona symptoms.
The man died on Wednesday (July 1st) morning. Tebaria Union Parishad chairman Omar Ali Pradhan said he came to the house of late Mama Kathik Sarkar in the jungle area at 8pm on Tuesday. Bidhan Sarkar fell asleep after eating at night. He woke up late on Wednesday morning.

The people of the house thought that he was sleeping because he was tired after a long journey. At one stage, when there was a suspicion, the door was broken and he died as he did not get any response by shouting from outside. No one came forward at his funeral thinking that Bidhan was affected by Corona. No one even wanted to take his body home to Naogaon. Therefore, with the help of the Upazila Nirbahi Officer, the funeral was held at the wild crematorium at noon.

Sadar Upazila Nirbahi Officer (UNO) Jahangir Alam said no one came forward at the funeral of the Bidhan government thinking of Corona. Volunteers were brought from Rajshahi along with the local UP chairman and the deceased was buried. Samples have been collected from that person for corona testing.
