সাইদ সাজু, তানোর প্রতিনিধি : রাজশাহীর তানোর উপজেলার বিভিন্ন কাঁচাপাকা সড়ক দখল করে ধান ও খড় শুকানোর কাজ করছেন স্থানীয় কৃষাণ-কৃষাণিরা। ফলে একদিকে যেমন রাস্তাা মারাত্মকভাবে ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হচ্ছে তেমনি ভাবে বৃদ্ধি পাচ্ছে সড়ক দুর্ঘটনা।
সরজমিন বিভিন্ন এলাকা ঘুলে দেখা গেছে, তানোর থেকে আমনুরা ও তানোর থেকে চৌবাড়িয়া মেইন রাস্তাসহ গ্রামীণ কাঁচা-পাকা রাস্তা গুলোতে চলছে ধান মাড়াই ও খড় শুকানোর কাজ। এবং ধান মাড়াই শেষে খড় গুলো রাস্তাতেই ফেলে রাখা হচ্ছে। ফলে খানা খন্দে ভরা রাস্তাগুলোতে ঝুঁকি নিয়ে বিভিন্ন যানবাহন চলাচলে যেমন দুর্ভোগ বাড়ছে তেমনি রাস্তা গুলো ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হচ্ছে। সেই সাথে রাস্তায় খড় শুকানোর কারনে বাড়ছে দুর্ঘটনা।
এসব সড়কপথে বাস, ট্রাক, মিনিবাস, মোটরসাইকেল ছাড়াও অটো ভ্যান এবং ইজিবাইক চালকরা সার্বক্ষণিক দুর্ঘটনার আশংকায় জীবনের ঝুঁকি নিয়ে চলাচল করছে। রাস্তায় চলমান সকল যানবাহন দুর্ঘটনার সম্মুখীন হয়ে প্রতিনিয়ত ঝুঁকি নিয়ে চলাচল করছে। এ ছাড়া সড়কের ওপর জীবনের ঝুঁকি নিয়ে কাজ করছেন কৃষক-কৃষাণিসহ কৃষক পরিবারের শিশুরা। আবার রাস্তা সংকীর্ণ হওয়ার কারণে অনেক স্থানে যানজটেরও সৃষ্টি হচ্ছে।
কৃষাণ-কৃষাণিরা বলছেন, আলু চাষের পর জমিতে বোরো ধান চাষ করা হয়েছিল, ভরা বর্ষা মৌসুমে বাড়িতে ধান ও খড় শুকানোর সুযোগ নাই ফলে তারা রাস্তাতেই ধাণ মাড়াই ও খড় শুকাতে বাধ্য হচ্ছেন। তারা বলছেন, রাস্তায় ধান মাড়াই ও খড় শুকানোয় যানবাহন চলাচলে কিছুটা প্রতিবন্ধকতার সৃষ্টি হলেও সবাই বুঝতে পারছেন আমাদের সমস্যা তাই কেউ কিছু কলেন না।
অপর দিখে যানবাহন চালক বলছেন, রাস্তায় ধান মাড়াই ও খড় শুকানোর ফলে যানবাহন চলাচলের সশয় যেমন দুর্ঘটনা ঘটছে তেমনি ভাবে রাস্তাগুলোও ক্ষতিগ্রস্থ হচ্ছে। চালকরা বলছেন, কৃষাণ কৃষানীরা রাস্তায় ধান মাড়াইয়ের পর অনেকেই খড়গুলো নিয়ে যায়না রাস্তাতেই পড়ে থাকে। ফলে, খড়ে বৃষ্টির পানি জমে থাকছে এবং খড়গুলো ভিজে পচে গিয়ে যানবাহন চলাচলে প্রতিবন্ধকতার পাশাপাশি প্রতিনিয়তই দুর্ঘটনাও ঘটছে। এছাড়া ভিজা খড়ে চাকা সিলিপ করে প্রায়ই দুর্ঘটনা ঘটছে। বিশেষ করে বাইসাইকেল, ভ্যান, মোটরসাইকেল, প্রাইভেটকার ও অটোরিকশা চলাচলের ক্ষেত্রে বেশি সমস্যা হচ্ছে।
তানোর থানার ভারপ্রাপ্ত (ওসি) রাকিবুল হাসান বলেন, সড়কে ধান খড় শুকানোর বিষয়ে আইনশৃঙ্খলা কমিটির সভায় সিদ্ধান্ত নেয়া হবে এবং এবিষয়ে কৃষাণ-কৃষাণিদের সচেতন করা হবে। তারপরও সমাধান না হলে জনস্বার্থে অভিযান চালিয়ে আইনি ব্যবস্থা নেয়া হবে বলেও জানান তিনি।

In the rainy season, there is no opportunity to dry paddy and straw at home, so they are forced to thresh paddy and dry straw on the road. They say that threshing paddy and drying hay on the road has caused some obstacles to the movement of vehicles but everyone understands our problem so no one has said anything.
On the other hand, the driver of the vehicle says that as a result of threshing paddy and drying hay on the road, the roads are also being damaged in the same way as the accidents are happening. The drivers say that after the farmers are threshing paddy on the road, many of them do not take the straw and stay on the road. As a result, rain water is accumulating on the hay and the straw is getting wet and rotting, obstructing the movement of vehicles as well as accidents are constantly happening.
In addition, accidents are often caused by slipping wheels on wet straw. Especially bicycles, vans, motorcycles, private cars and autorickshaws are having more problems.
Tanore Police Station Officer-in-Charge (OC) Rakibul Hasan said a decision on drying paddy straw on the road would be taken at a meeting of the law and order committee and farmers would be made aware of the issue. He also said that if there is no solution then legal action will be taken in the public interest.
